Toshiba has made an entry to the Freeview HD market with the introduction of its HDR5010 Freeview + HD PVR. This interesting device is equipped with an integrated 500GB of hard drive which facilitates the recording of your HD content. There is a dual HD tuner in this device as well which allows the users to record one channel and watch another at the same time.
The healthy 500GB hard drive of HDR5010 allows having HD recording up to 120 hours. The PVR has 3 HDMI, an Ethernet port, 2 USB ports and a SCART port.This latest device by Toshiba can also serve as a decent media streamer as it includes DivX and MP3 playback support. HDR5010- Freeview + HD PVR will be available in June during the time of FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa for an approximate price of $545.
I can not wait for the world cup now… I am one of the lucky ones that can receive Freeview HD now here in Liverpool.
