Travelstar 7K500 is the fifth generation hard drive from Hitachi measuring 2.5 inches and it boasts capacity up to 500GB. This drive has SATA II interface so that it can be connected to a desktop, laptop and even drive casing.
Travelstar 7K500 is the latest generation mobile hard drive which uses perpendicular magnetic recording technology so as to offer large capacities and it also has an area density of 375 GB/sq inch. The drive also offers high performance with lower power consumption.
The 500GB model has 7200 RPM Spindle, 16MB data cache, two platter drive and other features. Some of the drive from this series is also available with BDE (Bulk Data Encryption) so that your data can be encrypted on the drive.
