At the recent SID 2010, LG has displayed its 15 inches of W-OLED panel which measures 384 X 211 X 1.7mm in size. The HD resolution of the panel stands at 1366 X 768 pixels with 16, 7 million colors depth, 100,000:1 contrast ratio and 200 nit brightness. With this latest technology the display of LG can improve lifetime and can also avoid the discoloration.
The problem arises because the green is brighter and the red have a higher lifetime as compared to the blue. In any of the standard panel the process of aging starts immediately and thus the brightness from the RGB colors has to be checked so as to avoid the changes of the color at the panel. Though this monitor has a great contrast but the prototype of Sony is capable of producing much more colors as per the indicated specifications. No information is available regarding the price and the availability of LG W-OLED Panel.
