Sibling rivalries exist not only at homes but also in gadgets. Many a time, manufacturers produce similarly priced devices in the same category and thus it leads to in house competition.
Today we take a peek into one such showdown between two Samsung Smartphones. The models are Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy S Plus. Both are top of the line products that offer just about any functionality that you will expect from a top class phone.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy S Plus are abundant in Multimedia and entertainment features and are similarly priced too which might lead to a difficult judgement.
Display: Big is Better
On the display section, the Galaxy S2 has a slight advantage as it has a 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen display in comparison to the smaller 4.0 inch one of the Galaxy S Plus. Both are based on the AMOLED technology, which results in better visibility under sunlight.
“Click Click Click”
The Galaxy S2 has an 8 Mega Pixel camera with LED flash and also has a front camera rated at 2 Mega Pixels. The Plus on the other hand has only a 5 Mega pixel rear camera and a VGA front camera resulting in not so comfortable video calling.
Both allow high definition video recording but it is the Galaxy S2 that scores again here as it offers a higher 1080p resolution recording as compared to the 720p of the Galaxy S plus.
Entertainment Uncompromised
When it comes to multimedia and entertainment support, both have not much difference. Equipped with necessary codecs and software, they offer a wide range of media file format support and playback.
External connectivity to portable or large speakers is facilitated by the 3.5 mm universal jack present in both. FM radio is also offered.
Hard Facts with Soft corners
Both the phones are powered by Android Gingerbread OS and come with Java support meaning it can run virtually any App from the Android market. Connectivity options abound in both and you get Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and USB PC sync in addition to high speed 3G internet connectivity. The only one’s are where Galaxy S Plus scores is here i.e. it offers slightly faster 3G internet surfing.
Prices
Now it all boils down to the pricing factor. The Samsung Galaxy S2 retails for around Rs 30900 whereas the Galaxy S Plus is available for Rs 29800. The marginal price difference does not justify the Galaxy S Plus in any way as it is clearly losing out to the Galaxy S2 in almost every other area.
And the Winner is
It is assumed that by now everyone reading the comparison has understood the clear winner in this duel. At just a few bucks more, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has clearly outclassed the Galaxy S Plus. But considering the fact that both have managed to garner their own fanship, there is no point in discontinuing the loser from the market.
