HP is now a household name in the world of computing and it lives up to its reputation by its continuous unveiling of latest gadgets and devices in one particular sphere, that is, desktop PCs. Keeping in tune with its performance, HP has recently launched Omni 27, its latest all-in-one PC.

Its expected price is $1,999.99 and runs on Windows 7. It has a 27 inches screen and a display of 1080p; an internal storage of 2TB and a processor of Intel Core i5 2400 S.

Some Detailed Specifications

This PC is particularly designed for those who prefer a meticulous get up or design, a better performance and an expanded and enhanced viewing experience. It has an edge to edge glass panel display that can be tilted up to 25 degrees, that allows users to adjust the PC screen to their level of comfort. However, although Omni 27 resembles the Touch Smart models, this PC does not have the touch-screen option.

This PC deploys the HP magic canvas software, which allows users to expand their desktop in order to accommodate pictures, applications and videos. Other features like the task bar, menu, desktop shortcuts and others, can be accessed through this software as well.

The new HP Omni 27 features a multicore processor and advanced HD graphics as well. This new device offers a range of advanced multimedia features, such as a Blu-Ray disc drive, HDMI, TV tuner and others.

Other basic features

Some other basic features of this device includes

A whopping 6GB RAM

2 × USB 3.0 ports

It, however, remains unclear why this PC is not a touchscreen. It has already gained the status of an all in one PC and the new generation is already embracing it. So better grab one to experience its latest features.

Now-a-days, USB 3.0 headers are a common feature in most of the new motherboards. However, almost all of them ship with the required expansion bays. The accessory and case specialist, Sharkoon, has recently come up with something new and exciting to offer its customers.

It has launched the three front panel USB 3.0 bays, which also has a Super Speed connection and can be accessed comfortably with the PC from the front of the main-board.

Probable Prices

The approximate prices are enlisted below, although these may vary according to time and location:

Sharkoon USB 3.0 Front Panel A (2 × USB 3.0 A) costs 14.99 Euro (Rs. 1,034)

Sharkoon USB3.0 Front Panel B (1 x 19Pin) costs 14.99 Euro (Rs. 1,034)

Sharkoon USB3.0 Front Panel C (2 X 19Pin) costs 17.99 Euro (Rs. 1,242)

Sharkoon Internal USB3.0 Adapter costs 5.99 Euro (Rs. 414)

Compatibility

This series includes models mainly for the main board which provides USB 3.0 externally, particularly on the backside of computers and also for main boards that are new, which are internally equipped with a few (one or two) USB 3.0 pin headers.

Useful Features

Two USB 3.0 ports are provided by this panel that are led out from the USB 3.0 Type A Jack to the rear of the case and is also connected with two Super Speed interfaces, which are external.

Moreover, an internal USB 3.0 adapter is also provided for users who already possess a case which contains front USB 3.0 and also a main board with a 19 pin USB 3.0 header.

The converter is then responsible for transforming the 19 pin connector to two USB 3.0 Type A connectors, in such a way that from outside, the Type A front panel cable can be connected directly to the main board. This will thus be a great option for users.

Olasonic’s TW-S7 Speakers could be the right choice if you are looking for a pair of sleek speakers for your computer or laptop.

The TW-S7 speakers connect to user’s computer or laptop via USB and provide a frequency response of 60Hz – 20,000Hz. The speakers have a Super Charged Drive System digital amp fitted within to deliver 10W+10W impressive stereo sound. They are also supposed to be energy efficient as they consume only 2.5W of USB power.

The speakers feature plug-and-play compatibility with your computer or laptop, and install automatically without the need for special drivers or software. They also employ direct transfer of digital audio signals over the USB interface to minimize distortion.

The speakers provide high-fi sound as they use large 60mm ferrite magnet drivers, a passive radiator and a high-frequency diffuser. The TW-S7 USB Powered Speaker System comes in two colors, black or white. The egg shape of the speakers maximizes the strength and efficiency while reducing unwanted noise and distortion.

The TW-S7 speakers, which are priced at $129.99, are already available in Japan from April and they are supposed to hit the other markets on 1st August.

The Lightning SSD drives include six new drives: three SLC (single-level cell) flash drives with capacities of 100GB, 200GB and 400GB; and three MLC (multi-level cell) flash drives with capacities 200GB, 400GB and 800GB.

These high-capacity SSDs are also available in a 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch standard form factor and they have been designed to integrate seamlessly into existing SAS enterprise storage and server systems without the need for the users to make any changes to their existing applications.

They SSDs offer end-to-end data protection and reliability and their features include extended ECC, background Patrol Read and Memory Reclaim, triple-redundant ECC protected metadata, and support for the T10 Data Integrity Field standard.

These enterprise-class SSDs are already integrated into HP Qualified storage drives and are available to users on HP ProLiant servers. We do not have any pricing information for the drives but they are expected to be too much to consider as an alternative choice to replace the 1TB drive.

Western Digital, the leading brand in internal and external storage devices has just unveiled hard disk that has a 3TB (terabytes) capacity. This latest device is called WD30EZR.

It is the latest from Western Digital’s stream of Caviar Green Hardrives that are known to having large capacities with reduced energy consumption and low operating temperatures. Besides all the attributes, what really interests every one is the device’s huge storage capacity.

It could very well store up to 600,000 pictures or 750,000 songs or 230 hours of video. In addition to its vast storage capacity the device is also capable of transferring to 6GB/s BUS bandwidth or SATA 3.0. Another great feature of this Hard Disk drive is that it is compatible with older systems with an interface that is similar to the older models. Apart from this, the HDD also has a 64 MB cache.

Despite its large size, the WD30EZR is fast when it comes to data transfer and accessibility. The device supports many USB Bridges for external applications and it also features the company’s Advanced Format Technology which enables one to write more data in the HDD.

It is suitable as a primary or booting drive for MAC and Windows 64-bit users as they would not encounter any problems with this device. However, the HDD can only be utilized as a secondary drive for 32-bit users because of the 2.19TB limit they have.
